THOUGHTS
What do you think about?
Heb 11:15 "And indeed if they had been
thinking of that [country] from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to
return."
Well, a bunch of them couldn’t get it out of their minds. They murmured.
Num 11:4-6 The rabble who were among them had greedy desires; and
also the sons of Israel wept again and said, "Who will give us meat to
eat? 5 "We remember the fish which we used to eat free in Egypt,
the cucumbers and the melons and the leeks and the onions and the garlic, 6
but now our appetite is gone. There is nothing at all to look at except this
manna."
We are all caught between “the meat of the world” and the “bread from heaven!”
Do I think of Egypt or do I think of Canaan? Figuratively, that
translates to EARTH OR HEAVEN! FLESH OR SPIRIT!
So WHAT THOUGHTS OCCUPY MY MIND? Am I truly a SOJOURNER?
The words “IF THEY HAD BEEN THINKING OF...” are settling.
It seems that OPPORTUNITY would grow from the mind?
Jas 1:13-16 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am
being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself
does not tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and
enticed by his
own lust. 15 Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to
sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. 16 Do
not be deceived, my beloved brethren.
Col 3:1-3 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep
seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
2 Set
your mind on the things
above, not on the things that are on earth. 3 For you have died
[Romans 6] and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
1John 2:15-17 Do not love the world nor the things in the
world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust
of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from
the world. 17 The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one
who does the will of God lives forever.
Luke 12:19-20 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou
hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be
merry. 20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be
required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
So just WHAT DO I SAY TO MY SOUL? WHAT OCCUPIES MY MIND?

My Prayer:
We honor and praise you Oh God of eternity. Help us to choose rightly
with each breath that you give us. May we set our minds on you and the things
that are spiritual. Cause us to be absorbed in your presence. Thank
you for the bread from heaven that gives life. Hold our hands that we may
overcome and live with you forever. In Jesus name
Amen
